Child care settings and health care settings are similar in that they serve a population with increased susceptibility to infections in an environment that has many infection risks. The goal of this training program is to provide caregivers, teachers and administrators with the information and resources necessary to increase their knowledge of infection control and prevention so that they may recognize the risks in their facility and incorporate techniques that create a safer environment and prevent transmission of infections among children and staff. The course is based on the curriculum used for mandatory infection control training of health professionals in New York State.
